A gallery of artistic expressions from Värmland

At Malsjö Classics, we take pride in highlighting the vibrant art scene of Värmland. We represent a number of talented regional artists, each with their own style and expression. Together, their work form an inspiring whole, a living complement to our car collection and the unique atmosphere that defines Malsjö Classics.

Johannes Wessmark

With a background in illustration and 3D graphics, Johannes Wessmark refines hyperrealism with exceptional technical precision and an extraordinary sense for details. By combining oil, acrylic, and occasionally airbrush, he creates paintings of almost unreal clarity. His works, ranging from portraits to nature studies, invite the viewer to see the world anew, through a lens that is both precise and dreamlike.

Mathias Frykholm

Mathias Frykholm works within a richly detailed visual language, where every brushstroke contributes to a greater whole. His paintings carry a vivid intensity that seems to draw the viewer into the scene itself. With a remarkable sense for color, light, and atmosphere, he creates works that not only depict, but also move, challenge, and linger in the mind long after you’ve looked away.

Kristina Blakstad

Since 2010, Kristina Blakstad has been creating expressive art in oil, watercolor, soft pastel, and gouache. Her work is a playful exploration of technique and motif, where each piece offers its own experience. With a background in pattern and fashion design, she brings a refined sense of form and color to her paintings. Today, her creativity extends beyond the canvas as she also writes novels, another expression of her artistic range.

Kristina Dunér

In Kristina Dunér’s watercolors, color and light seem to cohibit in small, adventurous little worlds. Her bold and dynamic brushwork creates moods that move the viewer, often with a touch of humor shining through. Her subjects range from peaceful landscapes and vivid animals to playful origami figures and mechanical objects, a vibrant journey through imagination and joy.

Daniel Zausnig

Daniel Zausnig paints in a free and expressive watercolor style, letting emotion and intuition take precedence over strict realism. Inspired by abandoned houses, rural life, and the shifting moods of nature, he captures a poetic blend of melancholy and atmosphere. Since 2019, he has developed a distinctive platform where landscapes and dark, timeless scenes from forgotten eras emerge with raw beauty and quiet power.

Pernilla Carlsson

With a curious and intuitive approach, Pernilla Carlsson explores color, form, and material through watercolor and acrylic. Her abstract paintings pulse with life and movement, as textures and shapes evolve organically from emotion. At times, figurative and nature-inspired elements appear, bringing balance between freedom and familiarity, an ongoing journey through color, structure, and feelings.

Joakim Johansson

Through his self-developed visual language, Joakim Johansson has carved out a distinctive place in contemporary realism. His paintings capture the quiet poetry of everyday life, those fleeting, human moments that often pass unnoticed. With honesty and sensitivity, he portrays scenes that invite reflection on what has just happened, or what is about to unfold.

Lotti Klink

Born in Zurich, but based in Grums with a studio in Malsjö, Lotti Klink paints with a language that blends geometry and playfulness. Each work unfolds layer by layer, guided by emotion, intuition, and the energy of the moment. Through earthy colours and tactile textures, she creates paintings with both depth and presence that evoke curiosity and reflection from the viewer.

Thomas Christenson

Thomas Christenson works in oil, acrylic, and charcoal. Horses often appear in his work as a symbol of strength and motion, yet also of calm and stillness. The self-portrait is another central theme, serving as a way to explore the passage of time and the shifting image of the self. Thomas moves between the expressive and the contemplative, guided by a strong sense of colour and form.

Annika Wessmark

Annika Wessmark is an artist whose work embraces a wide range of expressions and techniques. Her paintings move between openness and structure, between realism and fantasy, and between bold color harmonies and quiet black-and-white palettes. Each piece reflects respect to form and balance, inviting the viewer into a space between imagination and observation.
